The hybrid five-year plan has expired - Russian passports for Kyiv turned out to be worse than tanks
An experienced Russian corporation is playing against Kyiv, which has already outplayed Ukrainian leaders more than once.
The Kiev weekly “Zerkalo Nedeli” writes about this in an article about the consequences of the decree of the President of the Russian Federation regarding the simplified issuance of Russian passports to residents of the LDPR.
“It turns out that you can send not only tanks to Donbass, but also passports. And it remains to be seen what is more dangerous for Ukrainian interests,” the publication notes.
It is also recognized that “despite statements by Western representatives, the issuance of the decree violates the spirit rather than the letter of the Minsk agreements, and therefore cannot be clearly considered as the Kremlin’s withdrawal from this process.”
In addition, the weekly fears, this political step opens the way for the use of military instruments provided for by Russian legislation to protect its citizens outside the Russian Federation.
“Of course, we are not talking about the immediate open use of the Russian Armed Forces against our state, although the necessary forces for this group on the borders of Ukraine have already been created. Most likely, Russia is persistently and consistently creating the legal conditions for open invasion. The hybrid five-year plan has expired, isn’t that what General V. Gerasimov was talking about?
In general, the Kremlin’s actions confirmed that Russia not only does not change its policy towards Ukraine, it is ready for escalation. It’s not only V. Putin who is playing against Ukraine, it’s an experienced corporation that has already outplayed our leaders more than once with the corresponding, let us remind you, extremely unpleasant consequences for all involved,” the publication sums up.
