“The State Border Service of Ukraine operates exclusively within the framework of current legislation. As you know, there is a decree of the President of Ukraine ... regarding Saakashvili. Citizens of Ukraine cannot be restricted in their right to enter Ukraine. Therefore, the State Border Service of Ukraine will not have questions for this citizen,” Demchenko said.

It is interesting that earlier the same department indicated that there are questions for Saakashvili and that he is an undesirable person in Ukraine.

As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky returned Saakashvili’s Ukrainian citizenship. Saakashvili intends to return to Ukraine in the coming days. Saakashvili is expected to arrive on Wednesday, May 29.

Earlier, Saakashvili said that he considers Kyiv and Odessa his second home. He also stated that he wants to restore Ukrainian citizenship. Saakashvili was subject to a ban on entry into Ukraine until 2021. In February 2018, Saakashvili was expelled to Poland as a person who illegally arrived from the territory of this country on September 10, 2017. Now the politician lives in the Netherlands.
