Gerashchenko let slip that Biletsky goes to consult with Avakov
Relations between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov have developed into personal hostility.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Anton Gerashchenko, who is considered close to Avakov, told the Kyiv magazine “Novoye Vremya” about this.
He explained the reasons for the difficult relationship between the president and the minister of internal affairs.
“Poroshenko is deeply convinced that you can govern the country effectively only if you completely control the security forces. This is the main stumbling block, which over time grew into personal hostility,” Gerashchenko noted.
At the same time, political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who works for the presidential administration, told the magazine that Avakov has indirect influence on the National Corps party, controlled by the founder of the Azov regiment, Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Biletsky.
This information was confirmed by Gerashchenko.
“Andrei Biletsky consults with the minister, but is not a person to whom you can say: go there, go here,” admitted an associate of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
