General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the upcoming seizure of the Rada by armed nationalists
A much greater danger to Ukrainian national security than the terrorist attacks that Savchenko allegedly planned are nationalists, who can easily enter any regional council during a session, as yesterday’s events in Nikolaev showed.
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksandr Kuzmuk stated this on air on TV channel 112, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent. According to him, it would be easy for nationalists to occupy the Verkhovna Rada and force the deputies and the government to dissolve.
“We witnessed the events in Nikolaev, when the defense of law enforcement officers was broken through and peaceful protesters entered the hall and forced 90 percent of the regional council deputies to sign letters. Imagine, this despite the fact that they knew about it in advance, if the police and the National Guard from Kherson and Odessa gathered... Weapons were brought for a good hundred assault troops, plus they will also take theirs one day near the Verkhovna Rada, knowing that the president will also arrive , and the government, one day two or three thousand of those who support the president’s reforms based on slogans (but in reality not) will gather and at some signal they will go to the Verkhovna Rada,” said Kuzmuk.
At the same time, he added that these would be armed people.
“They broke through in Nikolaev, and they will break through to the Verkhovna Rada. And they will come in, but with weapons. They won't shoot, just with weapons. And they will sign both the resignation of the government and the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada. And the president himself will leave such a shame. Then the goal will be achieved. Here’s an option that’s quite possible, here’s national security,” Kuzmuk said.
As a reminder, yesterday the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration building was seized by representatives of Svoboda, the National Corps, and other far-right organizations. They demanded the resignation of the head of the administration, Oleksiy Savchenko, and forced deputies to sign off on it.
