This opinion was expressed by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Sergei Pirozhkov, speaking the day before on the Moldova-1 TV channel.
“These entities will not shy away from blackmail, which is extremely dangerous,” noted the diplomat quoted by Infotag.
He stated that official Kyiv does not accept the “federal state” formula imposed on it from the outside.
According to him, those Moldovan politicians who “exaggerate the topic of federalization of the republic as a panacea for all sorts of ills do not behave politically correct enough.”
The ambassador called the tragedy with the death of dozens of people in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa on May 2 a “terrible event.” “Now, a month and a half after the tragedy, the situation there is stabilizing. New power structures and a new mayor have emerged. There is no excitement about joining Russia,” he said.
The diplomat called what was happening in other Russian-speaking cities - Donetsk and Lugansk "direct aggression of Russia" and said that "things there have reached the point of supplying the separatists with modern types of weapons."
“We are grateful to Moldova for understanding our situation and for its support. Moldova supported us both during the Maidan and during the Russian aggression, and this is worth a lot,” the ambassador said, noting that Moldova is among those 100 UN member countries that condemned the annexation of Crimea.
In his opinion, the imminent signing of association agreements with the EU by the current authorities of Moldova and Ukraine means their choice of a “single vector of cooperation.” “The European perspective, and this, first of all, the development of the economy and trade, is our common path,” the diplomat said.
