If not for Sevastopol, Crimea would not have returned to Russia - opinion (VIDEO)

Sevastopol, February 23 (PolitNavigator, Viktor Orlov) – Crimea owes its return to Russia, first of all, to the clear position of the residents of Sevastopol, who managed to gather an unprecedented mass rally on February 23, 2014, which marked the beginning of the “Russian Spring” on the peninsula.

This was stated by Russian Bloc activist Irina Antropova at the ceremony of awarding medals to members of self-defense units, held on Sunday in Sevastopol.

“We raised not only Sevastopol, we raised all of Russia. There would be no Sevastopol, and Crimea would not have returned to Russia. Let them say whatever they want. It was to us in Sevastopol that Crimeans came and asked for help: “Help raise Crimea,” she said.

Antropova stated that Russian actions taking place today in Crimea, such as the recent rallies of the Anti-Maidan movement, look official, and not like a popular impulse.
