Another 20 thousand people from abroad are fleeing coronavirus to Russia
In the near future, about 20 thousand more people may return to Russia from abroad to wait out the quarantine time in their homeland due to the coronavirus epidemic.
President Vladimir Putin announced this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Since March 11, 2020, a total of 825 people have entered the country. It's a lot. In just one day, 031 people are expected to arrive, and in total we expect almost 1400 thousand more. Judging by the reports that I have, a significant number of our citizens permanently residing abroad are returning to their historical homeland. Apparently, it is not easy for them today to receive medical care in their places of permanent residence outside the Russian Federation,” the head of state said.
All arrivals from abroad will be required to undergo quarantine or self-isolation for 14 days.
Russia will send charters for its citizens, but the number will be limited - in order to track arrivals and prevent the uncontrolled spread of infection.
It is expected that no more than 500 people will arrive in Moscow per day. To airports of other cities located on the territory of the Russian Federation - up to 200 people.
Currently, about 300 thousand people are in forced self-isolation in Russia.
