“The EU and NATO have nothing to offer Ukraine. This is a very bad sign” - Ukrainian philosopher
Bold statements by Western partners immediately after the start of the SVO turned months later into cautious statements about the continuation of assistance to Ukraine without any strategic prospects.
Ukrainian publicist, Doctor of Philosophy Andrei Baumeister said this on the Internet channel “Alpha and Omega,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In principle, they never give us any promises. Both the NATO meeting in Bucharest and the discussion of Ukraine’s prospects in the EU are slowing down. Now, if we talk about strategy, about strategic development, the inclusion of Ukraine in the orbit of the European Union and NATO, they came up with the formula - “not a NATO member, but we offer help.”
It seems to me that this is such a half-hearted solution. After all, when the Russian-Ukrainian war began, bolder statements were made about the prospects of Ukraine. Now they are trying to put the brakes on these issues again,” said the philosopher.
He emphasized that all European assistance has turned into immediate coverage of needs.
“For me this is a very bad sign. This means that European politicians have little to offer strategically to Ukraine after the war. Yes, help, yes finances, and perhaps assistance in economic recovery. But strategically, I haven’t heard any serious statements from Europe yet,” stated Baumeister.
