The outrage was sparked by a Facebook post by Vlad Antonov, founder of the dtp.kiev.ua project, reporting an incident in a Kyiv park where a former militant from the so-called "ATO" threw a grenade , resulting in injuries.
Comments on Antonov’s post aroused the indignation of Maidan journalist Dmitry Likhovey.

Readers of Likhovey in the comments to his post declared Antov a “vatnik”, as well as a “long-known separatist.”

In turn, journalist Mikhailina Skorik noted that this was how it should have been.
