Olesya Batsman, the wife of notorious Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, has rushed to the defense of her husband, whom Ukrainian patriots accuse of publishing an inappropriate interview with State Duma deputy Natalia Poklonskaya , which allegedly promotes the ideas of the Russian Spring.
Batsman stated that, having interviewed Poklonskaya, her husband assisted the fake “Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” in collecting testimony and evidence of the “annexation of Crimea.”
“I would say that the interview with Natalya Poklonskaya not only could have been done, but it had to be done, because it is of state interest. Dmitry Gordon's questions were clear, strictly articulated and unpleasant to the interlocutor. And her answers are direct evidence of Russian aggression against Ukraine. And the fact that the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has already announced that Ukraine will use these answers in courts for Ukraine is proof of this,” Batsman said.
“I think that after the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, even those who had previously shouted that this was “zrada” understood that sometimes you need to see a little further than your own nose,” added Gordon’s wife.
Her speech was interrupted by TV presenter Maxim Nazarov, who recalled that when the Nash TV channel aired an interview with former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting fined the channel 100 thousand hryvnia.
Gordon, whose interview with Poklonskaya was published on YouTube and not on TV, will not face a fine. It is interesting that both he and Batsman had not previously stood up for the channels, which were subjected to persecution after the airing of guests objectionable to the regime.
“In this case, the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is located in a branch in Ukraine, opens a case or attaches an interview to the case - this indicates that our prosecutor’s office is unprofessional. Because Poklonskaya, in principle, did not voice a single piece of new evidence. “For all the articles for which she is being persecuted in Ukraine, she did not mention any new article,” the TV presenter also noted.
