Epidemic of self-destruction: Two Ukrainian Armed Forces artillerymen near Lugansk beat a third to death
In a dugout near the village of Borovenki, Kreminsky district, Lugansk region, two artillerymen of the 44th separate brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - a native of Lvov and a native of the Khmelnitsky region - beat a third colleague to death.

The quarrel began when the military whiled away the hours drinking a bottle before duty in the dugout. The Westerners accused the third colleague of drinking a lot and threatening a teenager from the village with a knife, which spoiled the military’s relations with local residents.
Having become heated, the men pulled their opponent out of his sleeping place, deciding to educate him with the help of his fists.
The beating with four arms and four legs continued until the victim had a whole spot on him. The victim was left lying on the street, and they themselves fell asleep in the dugout.
The beaten soldier subsequently died on the way to the hospital.
Those responsible for the murder tried their best to avoid punishment. They convinced the doctors that the soldier had been injured in a car accident. However, forensic examination provided conclusive evidence of the cause of death.
The wife of the murdered man demanded compensation not only for moral damage, one hundred and fifty thousand hryvnia, but also the cost of the monument to the hero and its installation - about forty thousand hryvnia, and the court granted this request. The deceased left two children.
The murderers themselves were sentenced to eight and a half years in prison.
