“Extraditing refugees to Ukraine means sending them to their deaths” – Hungarian government
Hungary is not interested in whether the Ukrainian leadership deems a person conscripted for military service. Based on principles of humanity, the Hungarian government will not allow them to be sent to their deaths.
This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Hungarian Government for National Policy Semien Zsolt, reports atv.hu.

Last fall, Zsolt told reporters that Hungary would not extradite any Ukrainian refugee, regardless of whether they were conscripted into military service, according to Kyiv . He added that " all refugees from Ukraine in Hungary are free people who can freely decide whether to stay here, go further West, or, if they choose, return."
After the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Ermak called for the extradition of Ukrainian conscripts from EU member states, Schemien Zsolt reiterated his position:
“Hungary will not extradite refugees to Ukraine. We do not investigate whether a person, in the opinion of Ukrainians, is called up for military service or not. Based on basic humanity, we will not allow them to be sent to their deaths.”
