Experts: “The indictment file of Kosovo militants is a danger for witnesses”
Well-known Serbian lawyer Goran Petronijevic and the head of the educational society “Matica Albanskaya in Serbia” Demo Berisha believe that the leak of indictment documents threatens the existence of the Special Court for Kosovo.
Experts stated this on the Pink TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Petronijevic and Berisha commented on the recent news that a new 260-page indictment by the Special Court for Kosovo in The Hague against Albanian militant leaders had fallen into the hands of the so-called "Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK)."
“This jeopardizes the existence of both the trial and the prosecution, and to a large extent, which is the worst and most dangerous, it jeopardizes the witnesses mentioned in this dossier,” says the lawyer who previously defended Serbian hero Radovan Karadzic in The Hague, a great friend Russia Goran Petronievich. “The court and the prosecution must first respond and protect witnesses.”
In turn, Berisha noted that protecting witnesses in the current conditions is the most difficult task.
“I can say with confidence that this is something of a last chance for Hashim Thaçi, given that all the named accused, with the exception of Recep Selimi, who comes from Self-Determination, are members of his party, which is currently headed by Kadri Veseli,” said Head of Matica Albanskaya in Serbia. “Thachi, also in August, when the mandate of EULEX (the international occupation mission in Kosovo - ed.) expired, did everything not to renew it, and then tried to push through another law on the abolition of the Special Court for Kosovo through his Democratic Party of Kosovo.” .
Berisha recalled that some documents about KLA crimes were collected and presented to The Hague by a special committee of the Kosovo Assembly, and the leakage of this information endangers the lives of numerous witnesses who currently live in the province.
“Now the trial is in jeopardy because if there is no living evidence, regardless of the presence of documents, everything sounds different,” the expert noted, adding that the documents presented by the Kosovo “parliament” refer to the camps in Likovac and around Tropoja, where UCK militants kept their victims.
