Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine: War - for decades, as long as the West supplies weapons
The armed conflict in Ukraine may drag on for many more years - until the countries of the Western bloc “get tired” of pumping the Kiev regime with weapons and money.
Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrei Zagorodnyuk stated this on Radio Liberty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked how many more years the war against Russia could drag on.
“It could be decades, it could be years. It all depends on what resources the Russian Federation has, how long their regime will last, and how long our coalition can tolerate it,” Zagorodnyuk said.
He emphasized that the Kiev leadership will continue to ask the West for more and more new equipment.
“And how far will we be able to persuade them to provide us with the necessary amount of equipment in order to create a fire advantage and move from a protracted war to more active actions, and push them out of the territory of Ukraine.
We have already experienced nine years of war since 2014. Putin’s strategic goal is to destroy Ukraine, he is determined to do so. And while he is in power, he will try to destabilize us,” the ex-minister concluded.
