Former head of the SBU: “For the surrender of the Maidan, Klitschko and Yatsenyuk asked for a billion, Yarosh - an apartment”
At the beginning of the so-called Euromaidan, its leaders tried to sell the protest to the Ukrainian authorities in force at that time.
Former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Alexander Yakimenko announced this on the Rossiya 1 television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Yakimenko, then the leader of the now banned Right Sector in Russia, Dmitry Yarosh, asked for an apartment and a place at a university for his daughter, and Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who later became Prime Minister, and the current mayor of Kiev, Vitaliy Klitschko, wanted a billion dollars each.
“We essentially pulled the Maidan to our side in a day. They blocked it, stopped it. In fact, most of them were SBU employees and several students,” Yaremenko noted.
He clarified that it was November 30th.
“When this became known, and they couldn’t, because on the 1st they couldn’t go out and occupy this Maidan, the students, and we didn’t let them in, then at night Mr. Nalyvaichenko and Yarosh... It was only later, in the process, it became known when we Yarosh was dragged to the normal side and explained to him. We managed to come to an agreement with him. It was an apartment for him and the child’s enrollment in college. And then they bought it for a lot of money,” said the former head of the SBU.
“They all, you see, Mr. Yatsenyuk wanted money to stop the Maidan, Mr. Klitschko asked for a billion, Mr. Yatsenyuk - approximately the same amount to leave the Maidan,” Yakimenko said.
