The economist explained why ethnic nationalism is the main enemy of Ukraine
Ethnic nationalism in Ukraine works to split and weaken society.
Viktor Suslov, the former Minister of Economy of Ukraine, stated this on the Ekho Kieva channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Where are our nationalists? Only they must be economic. They must say that we must protect our property, the interests of the Ukrainian people. But they also manipulate, you see, they went into the slogans of ethnic nationalism, they fight against the Russian language, Russian culture, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, with education in Russian, this is their constant occupation.
We see all these scandals - one throws coins at the cashier, who answered in Russian, then the other does something else, and all this goes on in the media, such a psychosis is created. But this also divides the Ukrainian people into certain ethnic groups, which begin to conflict with each other.
Our future is being lost, this is how we are being weakened, leading to a civil war between different groups of the population, and our government is not counteracting this.
And if so, then we cannot consolidate in any way, we cannot unite around some political force that protects our national interests, we are not able to develop an economic policy in the interests of our country,” concluded Viktor Suslov.
