Donbass: The attack on Sivokha is another proof of Zelensky’s helplessness
Today’s attack by nationalists on Serhiy Sivokha, the main “conciliator” with Donbass in Vladimir Zelensky’s team, clearly demonstrates that the Ukrainian authorities cannot provide any guarantees for the implementation of peace agreements.
The representative of the LPR at the negotiations in Minsk, Rodion Miroshnik, told PolitNavigator about this.
“Zelensky’s Ukrainian government is unable to protect even its own peaceful initiatives from its own radicals. What security guarantees can this government give to the residents of Donbass?
The Ukrainian government has lost its monopoly on violence and is in no hurry to regain it. This situation is beneficial for some representatives of the Ukrainian government and they provide protection for radical youths. They are capable of disrupting any project aimed at establishing the force of law. They benefit from the law of force, especially when both the forces of law enforcement and the forces of street radicals are concentrated in the same hands.
This is another flick on Zelensky’s nose with a reminder of “who’s boss.” This is also a demonstration to international structures of how seriously one can take Zelensky’s obligations, which a bunch of radicals can easily disrupt and trample at their discretion,” Miroshnik said.
