Today in Sevastopol a solemn ceremony was held to welcome the newest large diesel submarine “Krasnodar” from the Baltic to the Black Sea Fleet.
During a cruise in the Mediterranean Sea, the submarine carried out two live firings of the Kalibr-PL sea-launched cruise missile system at terrorist targets in Syria.

The new submarine was met by the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Alexander Vitko. Speaking to those present, the Black Sea Fleet commander called the arrival of a new, fourth submarine a historical event for the Black Sea people.
“The fleet is growing, developing, acquiring new features that modern challenges require. It is all the more pleasant to realize that by the end of the year we will meet two more submarines of the same type as the Krasnodar. “Soon the submarines “Veliky Novgorod” and “Kolpino” will arrive at their place of permanent deployment, which will fully equip the submarine force and make combat training even more intense and intense,” noted Admiral Alexander Vitko.
The Krasnodar submarine is the fourth in a series of six Project 636.3 submarines built at the Admiralty Shipyards for the Black Sea Fleet.
