DPR will recapture Mariupol and Slavyansk with the onset of cold weather
The LPR and DPR use the strategy of “a thousand small cuts” against Ukraine, wearing out the enemy with numerous attacks and sabotage. Large-scale hostilities will resume by the end of autumn.
This was stated by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik.

“We are a country with a very bad, weak economy, we are in a pre-default state. The enemy is trying to create such tension at the front that would require the constant allocation of additional economic resources. This is the tactic of a thousand cuts - small cuts are created in many places, and the country is bleeding accordingly. This tactic will continue, especially since now the greenery is standing - a wonderful situation for sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
I don't expect any big advances until winter. Then it will be more convenient to launch artillery and air strikes. And then there will be real risks for major offensives.
If there is no political solution, the separatists will try to use the fighting to politically destabilize the country. Create for Ukraine the conditions for a martial law, even a local one - Mariupol, Slavyansk, so that this causes an internal political crisis,” Bortnik said.
