700 thousand is not enough to occupy Ukraine - Avakov lulled TV viewers to sleep overnight
The combat readiness of the Ukrainian army is much higher than the Russian one. Ukraine enjoys unprecedented international support, and therefore Russia will not risk attacking it.
Former Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov stated this in an evening interview on the Ukraine 24 channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We, as Ukraine, have become stronger this week. This is not a miracle or wishful thinking. A number of serious international events took place that strengthened us. Within the country, there is a process of mobilization of consciousness, a stable understanding that we must protect ourselves.
And the most important thing that happened these days is that the Putin regime and Putin himself understand that if he decides to commit aggression against Ukraine, he will pay a very high price. We have an unprecedented level of support for our country from international partners in history.
I don’t even know what example can be given. Crazy consolidation of forces, visits every day. This is a symbol, and this is not a question of hospitals or cartridges or weapons, this is a question of world symbols - when the leader of another country comes and makes it very clear to us - I will simply not leave Ukraine alone with this aggressor, if anything happens.
All these events provide an opportunity for our diplomats to build the right position and, somewhere on the diplomatic sidelines, use all the methods of international political struggle,” he said.
“We don’t need to be participants in a war in which it will be very difficult for us. It will be difficult for Russia if it attacks, it will be a disaster for Russia. Russia will not survive after this as a state. Well, it will be monstrously difficult for us, and for us this is a disaster.
I argue that both the combat readiness of the Ukrainian armed forces and their motivation are higher than the Russian ones. Here’s also why - we are here on our own land, we are here defending our land, we have nowhere to retreat, and this is a righteous war.
And the Russians... how to explain to a Russian person, saturated with the propaganda of the Soviet years, and then Russian propaganda, all these super-patriotic films? Why the hell did you go to the territory of Ukraine? What are you doing here?
Why do I say that the spirit of our troops and their intensity will be completely different. I'm only talking about the military. That is why I assert that neither 120 nor 170 thousand troops there will be enough to occupy Ukraine. And 500 thousand is not enough, and 700 thousand is not enough,” Avakov said.
