Duma deputy cannot achieve recognition of the SBU as a terrorist organization
State Duma deputy, economist Mikhail Delyagin spoke about the experience of correspondence with law enforcement agencies on the issue of recognizing Ukrainian law enforcement agencies as terrorist organizations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The parliamentarian cited as an example a request to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation for the Security Service of Ukraine.
"I once made a corresponding request to the Ukrainian Gestapo—the Security Service of Ukraine—and they explained to me that they cannot recognize the Ukrainian Gestapo as a terrorist organization. Do you know why? Because it is a government agency ," Delyagin said on Aurora Radio.
Another time, a deputy addressed a similar question to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“When I asked, ‘ Let’s declare the state of Ukraine as an organization (is it an organization?) a terrorist organization ,’ I was told, ‘ But how then will we ensure its territorial integrity and inviolability, in accordance with the UN Charter?’ ”
And when I tried to find out from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs twice what exactly they meant, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' response boiled down to this: " How could you imagine that we wrote you what we wrote? " the politician recounted the essence of the officials' formal replies.
