To hide traces of the theft of military property, servicemen of the air assault battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade started a fire in one of the brigade's warehouses.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov spoke about this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Numerous checks of the accounting and storage of materiel and weapons in the warehouses of Ukrainian Armed Forces units located in the Joint Forces Operation zone do not bring results. The sale of military equipment and weapons in units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is systematic. At the same time, Ukrainian militants, lacking in imagination, hide the facts of theft of property in a radical way, by arson, which has proven itself well in Svatovo, Balakleya, Kalinovka and Ichnya,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He said that as a result of another such fire, military property worth more than 6 million hryvnia was destroyed.
“In the area of the settlement of Berdyansk, punishers of the air assault battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade, in anticipation of an inventory of property, in preparation for rotation, set fire to one of the warehouses. As a result of the fire, in order to hide the shortage in the amount of 150 hryvnia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants destroyed property, including spare parts for weapons and military equipment worth more than 000 million hryvnia,” the representative of the operational command emphasized.
Daniil Bezsonov also noted that, based on the results of the investigation, an electrical short circuit was indicated as the cause of the fire.
