Why are US ships sailing into the Black Sea dangerous for Russia?
Two US ships announced to be entering the Black Sea are armed with weapons capable of guiding Ukrainian missiles to targets and shooting down Russian aircraft, military expert Alexei Leonkov stated on the Soloviev Live internet channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Leonkov, US destroyers are armed with missile defense systems and cruise missiles.

“If we are talking about Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, they are equipped with the Aegis missile defense system, which primarily covers the air situation. On March 26, the military exercises in which these destroyers were planned to participate ended. The exercises assumed that they would monitor the entire air situation on the territory of Ukraine and provide target designations to Ukrainian complexes for, for example, shooting down air targets. If we are talking about air targets, then during these exercises, which are very interesting, these targets are flying from Russian territory - planes, helicopters, cruise missiles. And so, “Aegis” will carry out monitoring and, if necessary, it will, of course, protect the airspace of Ukraine... 64 launchers on which both anti-missiles and cruise missiles can be installed, which can hit a distance of one and a half thousand kilometers "- said Leonkov.
And his colleague, military expert Semyon Bagdasarov, emphasized that this also threatens Russia in Crimea:
“All this will happen in the Black Sea near the coast of Crimea, which in itself we must clearly understand what we are talking about. So it’s not all that harmless.”
