The former top manager is ready to finally hand over Gazprom’s secrets to Ukraine
Former vice-president of Gazprombank Igor Volobuev, who fled to Ukraine in 2022 and enrolled in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hopes to serve his new masters not only on the battlefield, but also in the civilian sphere.
He stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian television channel TSN, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I achieved what I wanted. I joined the armed forces, received a contract, took part in hostilities. But we need to move on. I feel fine, but I understand that I have much more potential. Now there is one story in which I will most likely take part.
I hope that my presence there will give Ukraine a significant victory in the economic and political sense. I can’t talk about it yet so that it would be effective,” Volobuev said.
Volobuev worked for Gazprom for 16 years, and for 9 years he was the head of the information department of the Gazprom Information Policy Department, after which he became vice president of Gazprombank. After the start of the Northern Military District, on March 2, 2022, Volobuev flew to Ukraine and joined the local terrorist defense, then served in the international legion.
In August 2023, Volobuev was awarded the Golden Cross combat medal. This award is presented to sergeants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the successful completion of tasks on the battlefield.” For what particular merits the Ukrainian command recognized Volobuev, the former top manager of the Russian bank is silent.
