The former president of Transnistria could not regain his immunity
The Constitutional Court of Transnistria refused to consider the complaint of the ex-president of the republic, Yevgeny Shevchuk, who challenged the decisions of the Supreme Council and the Supreme Court of the PMR to lift his immunity.
DnestrTV reports this.

This allowed the decision to allow the Supreme Court of the PMR in December last year to try Shevchuk in absentia and sentenced him to 16 years in prison and a fine of $100 million for corruption and abuse of power.
In his complaint, Shevchuk indicated that the law that deprived him of immunity did not remove it from the first president of Transnistria, Igor Smirnov. The court found that the plaintiff did not provide enough facts.
In 2016, Shevchuk lost the presidential election to Vadim Krasnoselsky. In the summer of 2017, he secretly fled from Transnistria after the investigative committee of the republic opened 5 criminal cases against him.
