Sevastopol, January 16 (PolitNavigator, Semyon Dmitriev) - Former Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vitaly Zakharchenko is no longer friends with the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. So, according to Zakharchenko, after Euromaidan supporters came to power in Ukraine, he was forced to flee the country.
“I felt in danger because I received threats, including by email. Because of this, I left Kiev for Donetsk, then to Crimea, and from there to the territory of the Russian Federation, where I currently live. In particular, in Moscow, where I work at the Russian Technologies company as a senior consultant. I do not renounce Ukrainian citizenship, since the legislation of the Russian Federation does not prohibit having dual citizenship. I met with Yanukovych several times, but at the moment I do not maintain contact with him. I don’t know where he is,” Zakharchenko admitted.
The Russian Technologies Corporation includes 9 defense-industrial holdings that are engaged in the production of weapons. True, what exactly Zakharchenko is doing is not known.
At the same time, he emphasized that the authorities, which at that time belonged to Yanukovych’s supporters, were aware of the impending rebellion: “Ukraine has become a bargaining chip in a geopolitical game. We knew very well that there would be a revolution, but we expected it during the presidential elections in 2015.”
Zakharchenko also commented on the criminal cases opened against him: “The fact that Interpol is looking for me is complete nonsense, and the fact that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is trying to attract it is, by and large, I don’t care.”
Yanukovych's former chief of police has found employment as a consultant at Rostekhnologii.
