Lyubov Ulyanova, a candidate of historical sciences and a lecturer at Lomonosov Moscow State University, spoke about this on the air of "First Sevastopol," as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The commission was created at the beginning of 1992, and it was called the Commission on the Status of Sevastopol.
In July 1993, the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation adopted a resolution on the Russian status of Sevastopol.
So, in the materials of this commission, in addition to various correspondence on the topic of the historical affiliation of Sevastopol, materials about the events of 1954, there was a separate selection of materials on the plans of radical Ukrainian nationalists for Sevastopol, and for Crimea in general,” the specialist said.
Thus, to the appeal of Sevastopol residents regarding dual citizenship of Ukraine and Russia, the answer came:
“If you pose the question this way, then move to Novorossiysk and Tuapse and live there. And know that you won’t see any dual citizenship, just like the Black Sea Fleet. The fleet will be Ukrainian, Crimea will be Ukrainian or deserted. And you will be hunted down to the last.”
“And this letter from the Ukrainian “Rukh” was sent to the Officers’ Assembly of the Black Sea Fleet directly to the city of Sevastopol. Therefore, we can say that this is a purposeful desire among radical Ukrainian nationalists.
It is clear that there were different sentiments in Ukraine at that time, but we are talking about the sentiments of radical nationalist circles, represented mainly, of course, in Western Ukraine.
That is, telegrams were sent from there - from the city of Lvov, first of all. In particular, rallies were held in the city of Lviv on the topic: “Crimea will be Ukrainian or deserted.” People rallied in the city of Lvov on the topic of what the city of Sevastopol should look like, what kind of population should live in the territory of this city.
And one of the repeated refrains of the documents coming from there is “either you will be emasculated to a man, or you will move to Novorossiysk,” the historian emphasized.
