According to him, one of the main challenges facing Russia is “demographic, when its population is decreasing.”
“To the south of it is the greatest complexity of the Islamic world, and to the east rises China, which sees the enormous value of Russian natural resources and has exceptional technological success, and views itself as a country that will not benefit much from the economic power of the Russian Federation,” said the Briton.
“To the west of Russia is the West, with which Russia has a long-standing rivalry, but also long-standing ties. Technologies that Russia needs to determine its greatness,” Summers noted.
“A Russia that breaks ties with the West will be a Russia that will have a very difficult time defining its greatness in the world over the next century,” warns a British professor.
