According to the Obiektiv TV channel , the man claims that security forces from the Kharkiv-1 battalion demanded he share gasoline and, when he refused, beat him. Law enforcement officials, however, claim the victim was smuggling contraband and attempted to set fire to the checkpoint.
“Of course, no one said anything openly. Well, with looks... He grabbed the canister and said, I’d rather pour it out than give it to you, they knocked me down and when they tried to twist my arms back, they hit me in the spine with their knee,” the victim claims.
“He buys gasoline in Russia and resells it here and transports it in a Russian car. It turns out that, roughly speaking, his income has been cut off, and he begins to invent something, because he really understands that he has lost the penny that he earned illegally,” said the deputy commander of the Kharkov-1 battalion, Alexey Vedmidsky.
“He, with a canister of gasoline, tried to run up to the barrel near which the guys were warming up, tried to pour this gasoline there, did not get there, poured it on a pile of firewood, after which his actions were blocked,” the security forces outlined their version.
Now law enforcement officers are dealing with the incident.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the leadership of the Donetsk and Lugansk regional state administrations accused the Ukrainian security forces of looting and sent reports to Kyiv.
