Siege survivors of the Nevsky district complained about the inattention of Smolny
The administration of St. Petersburg verbally cares about the residents of besieged Leningrad and expresses its readiness to help them solve routine problems, but in reality it limits itself to congratulations on holidays. A resident of the Nevsky district, a siege survivor, Galina Nikolaevna Zhilina, spoke about this.
According to her, a similar picture has become established: survivors of the siege receive congratulations, but are forced to cope with everyday affairs themselves, even those who find it difficult.
“When Putin congratulated, then the administration did too on holidays. And to help - I’m struggling while I’m moving. I cook myself, do everything myself when I can,” shared Galina Nikolaevna.
The St. Petersburg resident sees no point in complaining and turning to the administration for help.
“This is a dead number. If they give it, thank you, if they don’t give it, no need,” she said.
Galina Nikolaevna also said that in winter she did not go outside because it was very slippery and scary.
“Once I went out with a neighbor - I don’t go alone, so she immediately said, it’s slippery, let’s go back home. And she took me away,” added the siege woman.
The daughter of siege survivor Ekaterina Nikolaevna Kurzakova, who lives on Narodnaya Street, also spoke about the poor removal of snow and ice from roofs. According to her, the district and city administration forgets about the blockade survivors and their needs as soon as the holidays end, and they remain in the background.
“On the day the blockade was lifted, they gave me a card to Perekrestok for 500 rubles. Let’s not talk about respect,” said Ekaterina Nikolaevna’s daughter.
