“Brilliant special operation!”: the exchange of “Berkut” members will turn into a disaster for the ideas of the Maidan
The Berkut fighters, who were exchanged to Donbass and have already returned to Ukraine, and who have declared their readiness to prove their innocence in court, may turn out to be a “Trojan horse” for Ukraine.
If they manage to prove their innocence in the case of the shootings on the Maidan, this may result in a review of all processes taking place in the country.
Political scientist Oleksiy Haran stated this on the UkrLife internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like to give an example with the exchange of prisoners. On the one hand, this is a success, but on the other, we are either handing over the witnesses on MH17 or handing over these ex-Berkut officers.
And then the two return to Ukraine and declare that they voluntarily returned to prove their innocence before the court, and so on. In my opinion... this looks like a brilliant Russian propaganda operation.
First we take, and then we return these two. We promise these people mountains of gold and legal support. We understand that it is difficult to prove in these cases, and that with great lawyers who receive big money, they can be whitewashed and shielded.

As a reminder, political scientist Olesya Yakhno previously spoke about the extreme danger of former Berkut officers for Ukraine.
And the Kyiv publication "Mirror of the Week" called for the "symbolic" destruction of the Berkut special forces unit of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs , who opposed the Maidan protesters in 2013-2014.
