Belarusians hinted that they could pardon the Ukrainian spy who failed his mission
Belarus is considering the issue of pardoning the Ukrainian spy Sharoiko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated today by the head of the KGB of the republic Valery Vakulchik, BELTA reports.

“The issue of pardoning Sharoiko is being considered,” Vakulchik said, noting that the pardon commission is dealing with this.
At the end of last year, the KGB of Belarus announced the detention of Sharoiko on charges of espionage and creating an intelligence network in Belarus. In December 2017, Vakulchik reported that the criminal case against Sharoiko was at its final stage, since “by the time of his arrest, a comprehensive evidence base had already been collected.”
On February 12, the Supreme Court of Belarus announced a closed hearing of the criminal case; other information was not made public throughout the entire process. In the spring of 2018, Sharoiko was sentenced to eight years in prison.
