Belarusian generals are preparing to “prevent aggression and war”
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus allegedly predicted these events two years before the conflict in Donbass.
This was stated in an interview with Belarus Today by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus - Head of the Main Operations Directorate Pavel Muraveiko, answering the question what is the peculiarity of the “defense plan of Belarus and the concept of the construction and development of the armed forces until 2030” approved by President Alexander Lukashenko. .
“During their development, the military-political situation around our country and in the world as a whole, successes and failures in armed conflicts in Ukraine, Syria and other countries, and the main trends in the development of science were analyzed,” said the Belarusian military leader.
He also described the plan as "a very down-to-earth, specific and clearly justified document."
“Its main feature is that it is aimed not at classical defense in its general sense, but at preventing possible aggression and war. For example, we predicted and assessed the events that occurred in neighboring Ukraine two years before they began. By assessing where the threat may come from, we try to minimize it at an early stage. And this is reconnaissance, electronic warfare, information warfare, camouflage and other elements.
We, as if in a game of chess, calculated and simulated the most pressing, complex, perhaps even incredible situations that may arise, and determined the methods and forms of protecting the country,” states Muraveiko.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Belarusian public movement "Civil Accord" called on Lukashenko to officially recognize Crimea. The movement's co-chair, Artyom Agafonov, explained that recognizing Russia's Crimea would not affect relations with Ukraine , as the ruling regime in Kyiv is already hostile to Belarus.
