The protests sweeping Belarus are the first stage of the outbreak of a full-scale civil war, which could break out at any moment.
Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Russia Today TV channel, stated this on air on the Russia 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is such metal fatigue, it always comes, it comes to young people who don’t remember how it was before. They only remember how they were born, and it was like this. Unfortunately, they often cannot objectively assess the situation. They also don’t understand what will happen next.
And I'll tell you what happens later. These are the pictures that we saw from the protests, when people come out with different flags, both of them, I am sure, a significant part of them come out at the call of their hearts.
But, nevertheless, most of them are passionaries, they are determined to firmly defend their ideals, values and the country as they see it.
And what happens when some come out with one flag, and others with another? This is the eve of civil war, nothing more. These are the first signs of the civil war. Which I certainly don’t wish for Belarus, but that’s how civil wars start,” she noted.
