“My apologies to the entire country for the unprofessional behavior of the police in the situation that arose and the ugly scene near the NBU building. That night I drove up to those picketing near the NBU and personally apologized for what happened. I have ordered an investigation into what happened, the results of which will be made public no later than the next 48 hours. A commission will work headed by two deputy ministers – Eka Zguladze and Sergei Yarov,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, a criminal case has been opened regarding the collision. “Based on the results of a quick investigation without delay, I have made a decision - the head of the Pechersk regional department of Kiev has been relieved of his post, his deputy for public security has been suspended pending the conclusions of the investigation commission,” Avakov said.
“Having talked with people, I think it is necessary to separate the real people protesting with the problems that brought them to the National Bank - and those who are trying to shake up an already difficult situation behind their backs,” he emphasized.
