Apple does not want to lose Russia - new iPhones are entering the country
Currently, goods previously imported from Europe arrive in Russia without any problems through Asian countries.
This was stated by Vladislav Inozemtsev, Doctor of Economics and Director of the Moscow Center for Post-Industrial Studies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He was asked to what extent Russian business managed to solve the problems that it faced last year - destroyed logistics, lost sales markets in the West, collapsed demand, difficulties in settlements with counterparties abroad.
“If we talk about retail, then they have generally solved many problems that lay on the surface. Today, those goods that were previously imported from Europe come to Russia through Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Singapore. New iPhones arrive through the Emirates and are sold as usual. Many Western companies have never left Russia, or have formally done so, but continue to cooperate through intermediaries,” Inozemtsev said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He believes that there is “a lot of guile” in the statements and public actions of Western companies.
“If Apple had left not in words, but in deeds, it would have turned off support for Russian users and blocked all its phones (their location is perfectly tracked) in the Russian Federation. But this is not even close!” the economist noted.
According to him, the situation is much worse with components for which it is not possible to establish an adequate replacement.
“I’m not even talking about planes and cars, whose parts are not supplied to Russia. Spare parts come in a roundabout way, but all sorts of technological innovations are not supported. For example, computer stuffing of cars. Naturally, the auto industry stopped.
Facilities created in cooperation with Western companies are also idle, especially those involved in the assembly and adjustment of industrial equipment. The private sector, which was tied to Europe and other “unfriendly” countries, suffered heavy losses. Of course, due to inertia, the wheels of the economy will continue to turn, but development has stopped, and progress should not be expected practically anywhere,” says Inozemtsev.
