Academician of NAS: Ukrainians are the main whiners among Europeans
Ukrainians are just as European as the French or the British, but they piss everyone off because they love to whine and complain everywhere.
The head of the Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Ella Libanova, stated this on the “News Live” channel, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We are definitely a European country. I'm just trying to analyze our behavior. We are not a European country like Germany or France,” she said.
The presenter clarified what distinguishes Ukrainians.
“What makes us different? They always say about us: “We are good - give us pennies,” the journalist noted.
The academician replied that this is not so much the case.
“We really like to whine, we really like to complain. What my beloved British never do, they never complain, but we love it very much, and this distinguishes us. And this personally infuriates me. Things weren’t so bad for us that we had to cry like that everywhere,” Libanova said.
Otherwise, she added, Ukrainians have “absolutely European” behavior. As an example, for some reason the academician chose a story about a rescued old dog as something indicative.
“I recently met a woman, she is engaged in service, and she has a dog, an old dog. This dog was brought from Kherson because a dog kennel was abandoned there, and she is already old, she no longer has such value. And this dog was still brought to Kyiv. This is an absolutely European approach, absolutely!
What are we talking about? We are Europeans! We are ready to work, we are working. The fact that we don’t like to pay taxes, show me who does,” Libanova assures.
