Budanov’s agent suggested testing whether Russia is ready for a compromise before it’s too late
Ukraine needs to conduct trial consultations now to understand whether Russia is ready for any compromises and negotiations. The further we delay, the lower the point Ukraine will be in these possible negotiations.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevhen Shevchenko, who was expelled from the presidential Servant of the People faction, in an interview with political scientist Vadim Karasev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I would recommend holding intelligence political consultations in order to feel out what Russia is ready to agree to, what kind of compromise. Or there is no compromise at all. This is very important because you yourself spoke about the point of success. At the point of success we need to negotiate, because from there it goes downhill,” the politician said.
“If we start any consultations now, then this is one story. Should we start negotiations when, say, Donald Trump arrives? We don’t know what it will be like or what to expect from it. It will be a different situation. And then it will be too late to return to the point where we are now,” Shevchenko said.
It is noteworthy that earlier the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, said that Shevchenko carried out his task, going to a meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, for which, in fact, the deputy lost his place in the ruling faction.
“Mr. Shevchenko has been helping us for quite a long time, let’s call it that. And he never refused when we made certain requests to him,” Budanov said in an interview.
