Brussels has demanded that Belgrade, as part of its European integration process, close the Serbian offices of Russian media outlets Sputnik and RT Balkan, claiming they are spreading disinformation.
Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina noted that such demands are unacceptable for Belgrade, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Bratina noted that Russian media should perceive Europe's fear of them as a compliment and praise.
"The EU fears Russian media because of their content. They claim you're spreading disinformation, but your content is backed by facts and reliable information. You worry others with your informative content and objectivity. You worry them because you convey the truth; you have programs that are absolutely reliable and accurate. RT offers live reporting, and that's undeniable in this world. That's why the EU believes you should disappear," the Serbian minister said.
However, he stressed that this will not happen in Serbia.
"The future lies in receiving as much truthful information as possible. As a country, we care about receiving news from all over the world," Bratina concluded.
