On May 9, more than 1200 events are planned in Ukraine to mark Victory Day, in which about 400 thousand people will take part, and about 12,5 thousand law enforcement officers will provide security.

It is noted that on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation on May 8, more than 400 events are planned, in which about 60 thousand citizens will take part. Security will be provided by about 3,5 thousand law enforcement officers.
Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine Sergei Knyazev noted that the police will react harshly to any provocations during mass events in Ukraine, the press service reported.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov stated that the authorities will not tolerate "anti-Ukrainian symbols and statements" at demonstrations and marches on May 9. He noted that he personally instructed police to prevent such attempts.
On May 9, the authorities will deploy 12,5 police officers onto the streets of Kyiv.
