We’ll bury the best units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in vain – military expert on holding Avdiivka
In the defense of Avdiivka, Ukraine is burning its resources for the sake of effect in the media.
Military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on air during journalist Alexander Shelest's video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Starikov, holding Avdeevka will not lead to a strategic goal, and the most motivated soldiers will die in battle.
“As a result, not only the enemy’s resources burn up, but our resources also burn up. It was not for nothing that I said in the first sentence - the high morale of the personnel of the Avdeevka garrison. So, in the end, by holding this territory we will lose motivated and trained fighters, both theirs and ours will burn up their resources. Do you understand what will happen? What are we doing, where will we find such a resource, will we prepare it? Now mobilization activities are underway, mobilization must take place, but the most important thing is the quality of the mobilization resource.
What happened at the beginning of the war and what is now are completely two different things. Therefore, we are the resource that is prepared, we will burn it, but who will come? Those who will come will come. If we put it tactically, media-wise – Brest Fortress, Donetsk Airport, what else? But in the end, what did this lead to, really? Will this lead to a strategic goal, a task set by the highest military-political leadership? Media-wise, yes, but strategically, no,” said Starikov.
