Zolotarev: Poroshenko is confident that the United States will help him avoid arrest
Petro Poroshenko went abroad after an attempt to serve him with a subpoena for questioning in the case of coal supplies, as he expects to find support in the West.
Andrey Zolotarev, head of the Third Sector Center, announced this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If there is a Medvedchuk case, then there must be a Poroshenko case. The authorities are trying to show their partnership – political. Positionally, Poroshenko will achieve this. Poroshenko positions himself as a European politician, and in any European country, a politician who has fled from justice is instantly declassified,” he noted.
“It is clear that this will not add rating points to him. There is no strategic decision yet about the choices and the optimal sparring partner. Poroshenko is seen as such due to his colossal anti-rating and because modeling shows Zelensky still beating Poroshenko in the second round.
Poroshenko’s electorate has become encapsulated, but the anti-rating has not decreased. He can’t go to Bankovaya, he can only wait for someone to bring him a bulldozer.
Now the mood is arrest with bail, one billion. This is clearly not part of Poroshenko’s plans. Obviously, he is counting on his friend’s call to Zelensky. If he succeeds, then, obviously, he will return before the 15th,” said Andrei Zolotarev.
