“Zmagars” signal the “absence of Russian troops” in Belarus – SBU general
At the moment, the Belarusian border is only an “annoying factor” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is holding back some of the troops in that direction.
Former deputy head of the SBU, General Viktor Yagun, stated this on ICTV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There are no Russian troops that could concentrate in Belarus. We have intelligence from our partners, from our intelligence, and from our Belarusian supporters, who are clearly monitoring the situation. There is no strength or means to cross the border. What is happening now is that this [Belarusian border] is simply an irritating factor that is holding back some of our troops in that direction,” says Yagun.
It's worth noting that there's no consensus on this in Kyiv. Earlier, Zorian Shkiryak, an advisor to former Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, appeared on Ukrainian television, threatening a strike from Belarus and urging Kyiv residents to "prepare for the worst."
