Zhvanetsky is threatened not to be allowed into Odessa if he does not return the order from Putin
Ukrainian Nazis announced that the upcoming tour in Kyiv and Odessa of the Russian satirist Mikhail Zhvanetsky is a “Kremlin provocation.”
The ex-head of the Odessa branch of the Right Sector, Sergei Sternenko, stated this in his blog.
He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin recently awarded Zhvanetsky the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, and the satirist is scheduled to give performances in Kyiv and Odessa on April 16 and 21.
“This Kremlin provocation using a not very smart artist should receive our proper reaction. Either the organizers will abandon the planned events and cancel them themselves, or they will meet a protest reaction from indignant Ukrainians,” the nationalist threatens.
“There is another alternative - Zhvanetsky’s public refusal of the award with explanations that Russia’s aggression on Ukraine is unacceptable,” Sternenko clarified. “There is no such thing yet.”
Sternenko has repeatedly been involved in high-profile scandals in Odessa. For example, he effectively got away with murdering a serviceman, even though the radical claimed he killed without regret.
He also orchestrated the disruption of Konstantin Raikin's concert in Odessa.
Zhvanetsky is threatened with being denied entry into Odessa unless he returns Putin's medal.
