As Kommersant managed to find out, a group from VGTRK - correspondent Igor Kornelyuk, cameraman Viktor Denisov and video engineer Anton Voloshin - filmed the evacuation of local residents from the mortar shelling zone at the militia checkpoint. Journalists came here after receiving information that a mine had hit a residential building. All three were wearing helmets with TV markings and body armor, and the First Channel film crew worked with them.

At this time, according to the publication, a mine exploded literally at the feet of the correspondent and video engineer. As the press service of VGTRK told Kommersant, his remains were identified by cameraman Viktor Denisov. Igor Kornelyuk was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but he could not be saved.
