Residents of Sevastopol will be subject to a new tax, the “Russian Bloc” is outraged
The ruling majority in the legislative assembly of Sevastopol was one of the first in Russia to vote for the introduction of a new tax for self-employed citizens. However, this topic is unlikely to become the main topic in the city media, which are busy advertising the uncontested candidate on the eve of the gubernatorial elections.

...A law introducing a tax on professional activities (tax on the self-employed) has been adopted in Sevastopol. Naturally it went quite quietly. Governor Razvozhaev and his supporters are unlikely to heavily advertise the not-so-good information about the appearance of a new tax during the pandemic on the eve of the elections.
The basis for its introduction was the federal law of November 27, 2018 “On conducting an experiment to establish a special tax regime “Tax on professional income”.
And although this law speaks of voluntary adoption of this type of taxation, I believe that individual bureaucrats will interpret this document in their own way, using half a million fines as a measure of coercion, and ordinary residents of Sevastopol will still have to drink from this innovation.
And this, despite the fact that the state should be grateful to the self-employed, because they relieve it of additional burden. They do not have to pay unemployment benefits, look for a job, and much more. Instead, they will tear yet another skin off people who are already not asking for anything from the authorities.
Why am I so pessimistic? Because the unfortunate experience of the raids carried out by official Kirpichnikov , who remained in the "Razvozzhayev" government, speaks volumes—we see how they "help" the self-employed selling fruits and vegetables grown on their own plots.
What is most interesting: the introduction of such a tax from July 2020, XNUMX, as specified in the federal law, depends solely on the will and desire of the regions.
In Sevastopol, the adoption of such a law can hardly be considered timely. A similar law has already been adopted in Moscow and some other regions of Russia, where the level of income of the population is much higher than in Sevastopol. And even there there are many complaints about the new initiative.
One can only guess about the motives for such an unpopular decision by the Sevastopol authorities, despite the approaching elections.
Perhaps the reason is that the election campaign for the acting Governor Razvozhaev will resemble a “warm bath” - the official’s opponent in the primaries will be a person who declares that he supports the current mayor. Frankly, this kind of hypocrisy is already sickening.
