Zhirinovsky is not allowed into his historical homeland
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky complained that he is not being allowed into Kazakhstan. He made this statement today from the podium of the Russian State Duma, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Everyone remembers what is common, but what should I remember? Where is my hometown? Where is my country where I was born, my little Motherland? You closed yourself off from her. You illegally divided the Soviet Union. My hometown Verny, which is called Alma-Ata in Kazakh, not only ended up abroad. The former Kazakh communists who are in power do not allow me to visit the graves of my ancestors. Moreover, they are dissatisfied that in Moscow they are starting to reason. Thank God, this time the representative of United Russia raised the topic of who lives on what lands and how,” Zhirinovsky said.
In 2005, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan declared the entry of Zhirinovsky, then vice-speaker of the State Duma, into the country undesirable. The decision was made after a Russian politician, in an interview with Echo of Moscow, said that such a state as Kazakhstan does not exist, and that it was invented by Stalin.
On December 12, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry sent a note to Russia because of a television speech by State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Nikonov, who said on television that “the territory of Kazakhstan is a great gift from Russia.”
