“I met him during the bringing of the gifts of the Magi (in January - editor's note). In Simferopol, he then made a very good impression on me, very serious. He is a charismatic person. When he is accused of some sins of the past, I can say: this is a person who is able to rise above his past, is able to develop - and this is unambiguous. He is very smart and energetic. He has all the qualities of a major political leader, and I hope that Crimea is not the last step in the Russian civil service that he occupies.

"It's a great tragedy that there wasn't such a person in Donetsk. When I entered the Donetsk region, I hoped I could find a similar leader and become his advisor, that is, repeat what happened in Crimea," Strelkov said in an interview with Sergei Shargunov.
