Grain deal: Russia bows to Erdogan

A similar opinion is shared by the director of the Russian Center for the Study of New Turkey, Yuri Mavashev.
“The decision of the Russian authorities to extend the “grain deal” for two months smacks of certain symbolism, which suggests the idea of a curtsy to President Erdogan. Like, we count on you to win, and if you lose, then maybe we won’t negotiate with anyone at all.”
According to him, “the Turkish opposition may take this as an insult, since political symbolism is very important in Turkey.”
Let us recall that Russia previously agreed to unblock Ukrainian ports in exchange for permission to import Russian agricultural products, but this was never done.
