Zelensky at the UN declared Ukraine the savior of all humanity
Six months after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, there is still no consensus in the UN Security Council on what is happening in this country
Thus, the United States and its satellites continue to accuse Russia of creating the global crisis. At the Security Council meeting held the day before, contrary to the accepted procedure, the majority of members decided to hear the speech of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky via video link.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , the Russian representative spoke out against this, and only the Chinese permanent representative abstained.
In his speech, Zelensky, as expected, blamed Russia for all the troubles and said that world security today depends on Ukraine.
“Secretary-General Antonio Guterres intends to organize a future summit next year.
We support this initiative and reaffirm that in order to build our common future, it is necessary to leave in the dustbin of history what did not allow humanity to live in peace, namely, aggression, colonial ambitions - this is what Russia demonstrates, then , with which Russia came to the territory of Ukraine.
I am convinced that together we can build a common future. It would be symbolic to hold this summit in Ukraine, on the territory of the country on which the future of the whole world depends, where this future is decided, whether we will have this future at all.
This issue is also being resolved at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, in our seaports, in Donbass, and in Crimea. Our independence is your security, the security of the whole world,” Zelensky said and concluded his speech with the Nazi slogan “glory to Ukraine.”
Representatives of EU member states and the head of the American delegation, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, spoke in a similar vein:
“All of these actions - the humanitarian crisis, the famine crisis, the violation of human rights, threats against certain segments of the population - only Russia is responsible for all of this and only Russia bears full responsibility for this, and only Russia is the only obstacle to a quick resolution this crisis."
UAE Representative to the UN Lana Nusseib stressed that the situation in Ukraine must be resolved through negotiations:
“The UN Charter offers a whole range of tools for the peaceful resolution of disputes. Note that none of them is applicable in the absence of political will and wisdom. This requires all of us to recognize that the war will only end through negotiations. This is how all the countless wars in human history have ended.”
In turn, Russian Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya emphasized that peace negotiations were carried out within the framework of the Minsk Agreements over the previous eight years, and it was Ukraine that violated them:
“In order to establish peace in the Donbass, as well as to prevent obvious threats to Russia emanating from Ukraine, we had no choice but to launch a special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine, the goals of which are being successfully and consistently achieved. I repeat once again - if the Minsk agreements had been implemented, no special operation would have been required. But the Kyiv regime decided otherwise.”
The speech of the representative of Mexico was unexpected, who emphasized that the supply of weapons to Ukraine leads to the fact that they are resold on “black” markets, which threatens global security:
“Mexico expresses its deepest concern about the threat posed by the illegal arms trade in the region. We must remain vigilant about the entire life cycle of weapons - from the moment they are handed over to the final users. We must make sure that weapons do not fall into the hands of those who should never receive them, especially when the fighting stops."
